About Pinpoint Answers Today
What this site is, how the answer database works, how we write explanations, and who it is for.
What this site is
Pinpoint Answers Today is an independent helper for LinkedIn's daily Pinpoint puzzle. One page for today's round with the five clues, three progressive hints, a reveal button you control, difficulty, category, pattern, and a clue-by-clue explanation. The rest of the site is the same database viewed from other angles: archive by year, calendar by date, search by word or number, category and pattern browse pages, difficulty lists, plus Learn lessons and longer Guides when one puzzle is not enough practice.
We cover Pinpoint only. No Wordle, no Connections, no CrossClimb, no general brain-game filler. Narrow on purpose so every page can stay useful for the game you actually opened.
How the database works
Each puzzle is one record: number, date, five clues, three hints, the answer, difficulty, primary category, optional secondary category, answer patterns, five clue explanations, a short explanation, and a full explanation. That single record powers the daily page, the permanent answer URL, the archive tables, the calendar cells, search results, related puzzles, and prev and next navigation.
Because everything reads from the same record, a correction lands everywhere at once. Fix a clue wording and the archive row, the answer page, and search all pick it up. New puzzles are added after they are checked against the live game, not scraped into empty stubs to grow a URL count.
How we write explanations
An explanation has two jobs. First, name the sense of the answer each clue was using: piano sense of soft, security sense of key, map sense of legend. Second, name the pattern so you can recognize the shape next time. If a writeup only says the answer is right, it has failed both jobs.
Difficulty, categories, and patterns are editorial tags we apply by hand with one consistent method. LinkedIn does not publish them, and we do not pretend they are official. Their job is navigation and pattern training: if you always stall on Words After, the pattern tag is how you find more of them in one sitting.
Who this is for
People who open Pinpoint with coffee, care about the streak, and get annoyed when clue four ruins a good guess. Also people who finished the round and still want to know why the trap clue was written that way. If you only want the answer word, the reveal button is two clicks away. If you want the reasoning, it is right underneath.
If you are building the habit from scratch, start with the Learn hub and the how-to-play guide, then practice on easy difficulty until naming the pattern feels automatic.
How this site is made
Content is written for people solving the game, not for filling space. Articles explain a relationship you can test on the next round. Answer pages explain a specific day. Browse pages exist so you can drill one shape or one subject on purpose.
We do not post your results, run bots against LinkedIn, or auto-submit guesses for you. Pages here are for reading and study. The live game remains the source of truth for wording and scoring.
